Why send birthday reminders?

Sending birthday reminders:

• Shows you care about your clients.
• Helps you stand out from the competition.
• Can increase repeat business with a special offer or greeting.

Before you start

Before setting this up, make sure the customer’s birthday is saved in their contact details.

You can add the birthday in their profile under Contact Information.

Step 1: Open automation

From your dashboard:

• Click Automation from the menu on the left.
• Click + Create Workflow.
• Choose Start From Scratch.
• Give your workflow a simple name, such as Birthday Reminder.
• Click Save.

Step 2: Add the trigger

The trigger tells the automation when the birthday message should be sent.

• Click Add Trigger.
• Choose Birthday as the trigger.
• Set it to trigger on the customer’s birthday.
• Make sure it is set to send the message on the day of their birthday.

Step 3: Add the birthday message

Next, add the message you want the customer to receive.

• Click Add Action.
• Choose Send SMS or Send Email.
• Write a friendly birthday message.

Step 4: Add a special offer

You can also add a special offer, discount or voucher that can be redeemed on their next visit.

To do this, click Add Action, choose Send SMS or Send Email, then create your offer message.

Step 5: Save and publish

Once you are happy with everything, click Save.

Then click Publish to make the workflow live.

Your birthday messages will now be sent automatically.

Quick tips

• Personalise the message with the customer’s first name.
• You can add a birthday gift or discount to make the message extra special.
• Test it by adding your own birthday to a contact and checking that the reminder works.
• Keep it friendly and warm, like a personal message from you.
